maintanence light 2001

After I start my 2001 odyssey the maintanence light blinks 10 times before going out. Is the car trying to tell me something? or is this a normal function?

My 2008 Odeyssey does the blinking a few hundred miles before it comes on permanently. An oil change or something will be due soon.

The maintenance required light comes on every 7500 miles when reset. When it flashes, its to let you know your about due for your scheduled service.Start to call and set appointment. After a while it will not flash but remain on. Once service is performed it can be reset by tech or look in owner's manual.
Hold down "select" and "reset" buttons together and keep holding down. turn ignition key to on position till maint. light goes out then let go of buttons
