This is a project i finished arround 2 years ago.

Normaly i dont build Rallye cars but the Lancia Stratos is a unique car and with the driver Sandro Munari it was legendary.

I was planing to make a small diorama,so i search reference pictures for the design of the landscape.

I found this:

The most difficult part of the project was to create the water.
I never did that before,so it was also something to became more experiences in modelling.

At the end i am not really happy with the water, there are many ways to realise water in modelling, maybe next time i know now how to make it better.:naughty:

Here are some pics while the hole thing was still in progress:

Thats awesome, the weathering is spot on. Also the figures are painted very well. Can you explain what you used for the water?

Very original and very interesting. You sure did a great job on this, I enjoy when action is captured in diroramas like yours.

Check out Masa Narita's TamiyaCon winning diorama for a great demonstration on how to model water.

Not an easy subject you have chosen. The splash looks spectacular!

Nice idea dude!! Can I say something?? Yes?? Ha ha ha ha. I do a bit of military modelling, and I learned that the best "frame" to represent in a diorama are the "first" or the "last" of the action. I mean, I think that you choose a very difficult frame to represent, and is extremely difficult simulate the water splash. But, my friend, I love your diorama. If you want to build more of these, please, keep us informed please!!!! Ha ha ha ha...

Of course i can explain how i did the water.

1.As you can see on the pics i used 2 komponents Putty named Magic Skulp from a german Manufactor.
I really like this putty cause you can make the putty softer with water and so its easy for modelling wathever you like.

2.for the waves of the splash i took the Water Effect from Vallejo,it looks like wooden cement (white color). With a big brush i painted some straps of this materal on a Table. After dry i had clear stripes.I just removed them from the table and give them the right look.At the end i paste them arround the car.

3.I removed the car again and brush the ground with different colors with my airbrush gun.

4.Now i used again the Water Effect from Vallejo and cover all space where it have to be water at the end with it.So i got this 3d Water effect.

5.To become the color finish i took a brush some white color and give the waves the finish. For the the dirt in the moving water i took some liquid products from MIG like Brown Wash,Dark Wash and Oil and Grease Stain Mixture. The same i took to make the car dirty.

6.To complete everything i took a 2K clear coat and airbrush all waterparts and also the front of the car to become a finish scenario.
