Help With Noisy Fuel Pump On 1997 1500

I have changed the fuel pump on my 1500 3 times and it still puts out a whining noise that is driving me nuts.
I tried both a generic and a Delco brand fuel pump. The Delco was slightly quieter but is still easily heard when driving down the road. It's noise is much louder at an idle and almost goes away when accelerating.
Is there anything else that can cause a pump to be noisy? I have not replaced the pressue regulater but did replace the fuel filter. Pressure is testing at about 62 psi at the fuel rail.
Thanks
Taj

I have a 1999 Silverado and it has the same problem I called my dealer and he said that as long as I was not having any trouble with it there was nothing I could do except put a new one on and that could be up to $500.00!! He said that mid to late 1990 models are just made that way. I agree with you, it is very annoying!!
