Yes, Jay finishes model kits. Of cars. :) More than one even. (But I'm still a second-rate photographer! :o)

I hereby present two Subaru WRXs...

One we've seen a lot; the Tamiya WRX STi kit. Mine is de-STi-ed. No STi logos; no STi blue interior. I wanted a "regular" WRX that looked mildly tuned. No wing, I added seatbelts, and I used Revell ITR wheels w/ the Tamiya tires...

(Yes, I know what it's missing. I'm trying to find it before Satrurday...)

Second is an older-model WRX Sport Wagon, made by Hasegawa. Phil built the sedan and it's in the Gallery. I heartily echo every negative sentiment he had about Hasegawa's complicated suspension and teensy-tiny wheels. I swapped in other ITR wheels, but it was a real pain, and I'm not that thrilled with them. In these pics, they're just glued on w/ pva glue, so I can change them later.

Glad to see the work Jay!!

I have been wanting to ask about the wagon for a while.....the two tone paint turned out sharp!!

I wonder if it is possible to graft the front of the newer WRX onto the wagon body...:D

Keep up the great work Jay!!

Nice Subaru's Jay.

On remark that you can still fix. Paint the exhaust end black on then inside. Gives them a more realistic look. ;)

Cool idea of the seatbelts in a roadcar and the two-tone colour looks very good!

Great Work, Jay! I would really like to ride in the first one. Love the look of those wheels on the black car. Is that gunmetal?

You sure? What's with the STI badge on the front grille then?

Cars look good Jay, particularly like the Wagon, especially considering the paint scheme you chose, it works for the car well.

Good job, I look forward to more from you (hopefully before I retire;) )

J/K Jay, great to see some Scooby's, better that they aren't "clones". I think only you and Veyron have gone for the "non" STi look. The wagon looks a bit like an Outback with attitude.

I've never figured how to graft the new front onto that wagon, the Tamiya kit's too wide or the Hasegawa's too narrow. Maybe the new Fujimi STi will work...

And of course it's not often we get to see a beautiful model sporting a great rack on A/F. :D :hehehe: :silly2: :evillaugh

Love the look of those wheels on the black car. Is that gunmetal? Yup. Sprayed them TS17 Aluminum, then painted X-10 gun metal by hand.

You sure? What's with the STI badge on the front grille then? It may still be a WRX with STi parts, but not the "factory" WRX STi. And I didn't want to paint 6 tiny stars by hand...
