How can I retrieve my trouble codes for my car? What type of code reader is necessary for my car? The vehicle has 87000 km's on it and works OK other than low idle at cold start and rough idle occasionally.

Thanks

Kevin

Any local Auto parts store should beable to pull your codes for free.

Do a Google P-code!

''Corolla P0XXX''

Hanes + chilton will not work for new cars, see www.alldata.com (http://www.alldata.com)
Doe's this car still have any type of warranty?
Emission laws in the US are good for 7-years!

Do a google ''P2716 Toyota''

You might be covered for 8-years, or 80K miles, check ASAP.

Yeah...I just found out Haynes doesn't make a manual for it.

It's an 06 with 87000 km's , I'll check into warranty...

I did google the trouble code number and it came up with "pressure control solenoid" and ECM problems. That wouldn't be related to emissions right?

The pressure control solenoid is in the transmission.

It seems the problem is quite common. The "ECU" is defective and is replaced if you have less than 100,000 km's on the powertrain warranty. The service manager said he didn't recognize the code but then told the service rep to help me out with "that rough shifting problem" they are seeing???
