Code PO 101 and 174 too lean

Have done smoke test and need to replace intake gasket...question can these two codes trip the Reduce Engine Power on . and send it to limp mode? Or is it something more?

Any air that enters the system after the MAF will cause it to run lean (174 code). The 101 code indicates the MAF signal is not within spec. It may need to be cleaned or replaced. Also make sure there is no restrictions for air to flow to the MAF. Also make sure the electrical connection to the MAF is clean and secure.
