I have an '02 LeSabre that is driving me crazy. Every 4 or 5th time I drive it, I lose power when excellerating. I changed the plugs and fuel filter recently and even had the plate/thing the voltage packs sit on checked. It will be running fine and then when I go to excellerate, it just sputters and the service engine light flashes the "misfire" warning. :runaround::runaround::runaround: If I put the car in neutral, it will sputter once or twice and then excellerate normally. When I put it back in drive it will sputter again when excellerating. It will cruise along at 60 or higher just fine, as long as I don't try to excellerate. My "Service Engine Soon" light has been displaying the catalytic converter code but I"m told that is my oxygen sensor/bank 1. :runaround::runaround::runaround: Need help PLEASE !!

Not a quick diagnosis here, a full scan will pick out misfire codes and counts, this can be caused by low fuel pressure, bad cat, a bad wire, cracked plug, just name a few issues.

have someone hook a tech 2 on it and it will tell you which cylinder is doing the missfire! more then likely it will be a weak coil!

yeah, i found it was cylinder #2.. i'll change the plugs and see what happens. I first changed them about 30K ago. Need oil change also. Also, my rear calipers are frooze up. I can see only one working. Never a dull moment here. thanks

Had a similar problem with our LeSabre. Initially thought it was transmission, but with the help of this site, narrowed it down to spark. Changed the plug..Changed coil..Turned out to be wires. Replaced them and all was good.
Pull it into a dark garage and you might even see a spark leak to metal. Good luck.
