The drivers window in my daughter's 03 Grand AM will not roll up or down. It is a manual system. I have fixed a few of these things in my past but I am darned if I can even start to have a look because I cannot get the handle off. In the old days, a GM manual window handle was held on by a little "C" type clip, which one could pop off and handle could be removed. I cannot see a clip or anything to remove. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

yes there is the spring clip see this you will need this tool but I am sure you can be creative and think of other ways to remove the clip

Thanks 3100 for the quick reply. I just love GM and their "J" tools. While I didn't see what I was looking for as least now I know there IS a clip. As you suggest, I am sure I can rig something up to remove it. Ok. back outside for another look. :headshake

to me it looks like that j- tool is pushing the clip out the opposite side, so see if you can see the opening where the clip is suppose to exit maybe you can use J hook or small screwdriver and just pull it out from the other end.

Yes, I agree. I made up a tool somewhat like I have used on previous cars, like a J hook, but could not grab on to anything the way it worked in the past. I then read the description and it said to push, but I couldn't find anything to push on. Anyway she was in a rush to go somewhere, getting dark and cold and so I will haul it into the garage over the weekend and try again. If not, there is always a large hammer somewhere to apply a little persuasion. :evillol:
Again, thank you for your help.
