Before I get started I would like to say that I went through ALL 43 pages of TIBURON forums to see if anyone else hade the same problems as me so I would not duplicate and make anyone MAD.:iceslolan

I have a v6 auto Tiburon that died while driving. I checked with a test light to the plug wires and no power. I unpluged the coil harness wires and getting power to the harness wires, but no power to the plug wires from the coil itself. I checked for codes and nothing their. The check engine light comes on when you turn on the ignition, so the ECM is getting power. Checked ALL fuses-good. The compression is good, The only thing I can think of is the CRANKSHAFT sensor. How do I test this and Am I doing proper testing to diagnoses this problem. I have not changed any parts out yet...

i'm with promo... why are you just testing a random sensor when you didn't hook up an obd II scanner and see what the code is? don't guess it's the crank sensor- that should set off a code if the wiring was cut or the sensor went blah...

edit: re-read your post... look below for a possible cause

Did you get the Tibby fixed. My daughter is having a similar problem, car quits while driving and won't restart. Let the car sit 15 minutes and it does restart. no codes.

my bad... you said you already checked for codes...

i've heard if there's a crack on the ignition coil pack, it can exhibit this problem

i'm guessing when warm, that crack creates increased resistance...

you can do an ohm test with the coil to see if there's continuity, but it won't check if it's good; that check will only confirms it's bad.
