You could see if there are any detailing shops looking for summer help, or maybe some car dealerships in need of an extra hand. I would also try local greenaries, video stores, and things of that nature. Book stores are good too.

work for a travel company as a destination staff... you get your room and board paid for, and you get paid extra to live in vacation spots like Cancun, Jamaica, etc

Depends, when I started 2 years ago they trained me there. Some places might want someone with past experience and some might just want someone period and be willing to show them the ropes.

If you're in a touristy area - be a waiter or bus boy. Even bus boys do pretty well from the tips from the fudgies around here.
