2001 focus, no spark.

Last night my son started his car left the keys in and locked it to warm it up, then he went to unlock it and the keyless entry would not work. A few minutes later he said the rpms started going up and down then it shut down. I drove to where the car was with the extra remote and it did not work either. Then after about five minute of trying to figure out how to get in the car the remote worked it unlocked the door but the car would not start.

I went back this afternoon after work and hoped it wasn't the timing belt, and it's not I get no spark. any ideas as to where to start looking for a solution?

Apparently it was getting spark and my spark tester is not working. It was fuel that it was not getting, the fuel fuse in the fuse box in the engine compartment was blown. I replaced the fuse and after a few cranks it started right up and is running fine.

Now I need to find out why it blew.

Some times the electrical wire to the fuel pump goes bad from the connector to the pump. You can use a temporary wire with an in line fuse to the fuel pump. If this blows pull the fuel pump and check it out.
