What's wrong with my amp?

Okay so it's been about a year and a few months since I removed my audio system from my old car (2 Boss Audio 1200watt 12s, custom box, 1200watt multichannel amp). I finished installing a Sony Xplod head unit into the dash of my new car and was wiring up the sub system. I got the power line through the firewall and everything was going fine. Everything was grounded right and when I went to turn on the car, everything turned on except for the amp. (going by the power light on the side of the amp). I don't know why it's not turning on. Everything is wired right. I got a voltmeter and found that the power cord is indeed supplying power, the remote wire is indeed sending a signal to the amp, and the ground wire is definitely grounded.

I pulled out the fuses and they "looked" perfectly fine, like they weren't blown or anything. No corrosion or black soot from being blown either. Could they just be bad? What should I do?

Can an amp really just die internally by just sitting there for a year? This is confusing as hell.

are you sure it's getting input from the headunit or whatever. Try taking the output of an ipod or w/e and put it into the amp. Also make sure ALL the buttons and knobs on the amp are set right.

Well, I don't have the amp connected to my subwoofers because I was testing the power, to make sure the amp was wired correctly to the battery and such. The amp should still turn on regardless of any inputs, right? I have the HU inputting with RCA to Channels 3 and 4. The amp just won't turn on. I find it hard to believe it's faulty inside from just sitting there. Would the fuses be bad even if they aren't blown?

Holy crap, I figured it out. I put some fresh fuses into it and it still didn't work. I checked over all the wires out of frustration and noticed that I was trying to ground the whole system on painted metal. I still thought the amp could be dead so I wasn't for certain that was it, but I grinded the metal off of the surface and hooked it all up. BAM! It works just like that. I feel so happy right now. Thanks for the help though!
