Here's the first model completed for 2010, a Fisher Porsche 917-20 'Pink Pig'.
As usual, I enhanced the kit with my own scratchbuilt parts, and a set of MFH prototype tires (or is that 'tyres'?)

Fantastic! I got one also, ready for my retirement :D

I feel the pink a bit "deep", ever thought it was a light pink, may be the shot?

And I agree, hopefully to see much by you this 2010, we got some common tastes.. :D

Probably just color balance on the camera:

Ditto with Bob and Brian, it'd be nice to see you at an NNL again! But alas, the Pink Pig turned out fantastic. I love the slight weathering around the front, rockers, and rear!

The subtle weathering really adds to the build. I like it.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. This forum keeps me motivated to keep building. I do miss you guys in the Atlanta gang and hope I have a chance to move back to that area sometime. I'll have to plan a trip to the NNL.

To answer some questions, the actual shade of pink is close to what is on the top of the car, not the sides. It may be a little darker than it should be, but I didnt have reliable color pics to match it to. I find that to get shades of red correct in pictures, the other colors are off. I was going on memory from when I saw the car at Rennsport Reunion in 2007.

Subtle weathering is the usual finish for me. I think it gives a more realistic appearance than a showroom perfect shine (just my opinion).

Sorry, no build photos for this straight forward build.

Thanks again for the comments.

One of my favorite cars. Is this kit now hard to find? I have looked for it with no luck. What pink paint did you use?

Ken, fantastic build a great start to the year, love the subtle weathering.
I have this one to do here in the UK and can I ask you what pink you used or if it was a custom mix how you achieved it.
Thanks in advance,Alex

I see I forgot to mention the paint. Its a custom mix of Tamiya white and Italian red spray paint. Decanted, mixed, and then shot through an airbrush. Clearcoat is Tamiya TS-13 clear. It slightly bubbled the decals and I only found it while polishing (and burning through a small part of a decal).
