2005 Suburban LS 2wd, 5.3 with the tow package. No MODS. (116,000 miles) I have a shudder in my suburban between 40-60mph. If I apply a slight pressure to the brake pedal it goes away and at higher speeds it is gone. Changed fluid and filter and problem went away for several weeks. Now it is back. I have read about several shift kits that may eliminate this problem but would like some advice on the situation. This is the wives daily driver and she is worried about the reliability of the vehicle. Transmission doesn't slip or have any other issues.

Needs put on a engine/transmission capable scanner and read out data and codes.
Post back any codes transmission or engine.
Any check engine lights?
Has engine been tuned up good?
Transmission fluid level and fluid condition?
What type of fluid used in it?
Will shudder quit if you lightly depress brake pedal?

Very well could be a TCC shudder. A shift kit may or may not fix it depending on if the valve body is worn out or the TCC is shot.

Had a shutter between 43-50 when cruising down the road. Would go away when tow switch on. Dealer repalced torque converter and GTG now.:smokin:
