04 3.0L power steering stiff

This car had a leaking rubber hose off the pump, the fluid level was ok and the steering was not stiff before the hose was replaced. I replaced hose and then topped off fluid and bleed system and now the steering is very stiff. The level is ok and I used OEM fluid. Is there some special pressure valve on theese? I bleed by turning lock to lock before starting.

With engine running and in park, turn wheel all the way to the right, than left.
You might need to push the accelerator pedal down to get the power steering to pump fluid, it probably has an air pocket, or shorted fluid.
