Jensen vm9410 indash dvd screen problems

I have a indash that i got off craigslist, the screen wont open or pull out, like i have to pull on it for it work, and it works only at a tilt. I havent messed with the parking brake wire yet. but what could possibly be wrong with it? the screen works at a tilt, but if its straight up its all black like its not even on, and it also wont auto shut.

are you sure you have it connected right ?
