MCW 1961 Catalina

Anyone knows about model car world's Catalina? As far as I know there has never been a 61' Catalina kit to copy from, and that kit must be mastered by MCW. Now I have bought several MCW resin kits. The casting quality is excellent, but the accuracy ranges from superb to absurd. Examples are many. The 61-64 Biscayne sedan roof is an of of few. Their 65-68 Biscayne roofs (an AAM creation originally I think) is asymmetric.
On the other hand, they make the only 59' and 60' Catalina and they are simply beautiful.
Now before I place a disappointing order again I would like to see what other people think about this particular kit.

I don't have the kit, but I can generalize a bit & sympathize with your concern.
The '61 Catalina & Ventura kits are based on the original '61 Bonneville, so the roof itself should be as good as the original (if you are talking about the bubbletop HT, not the 2 door sedan w/the long roof extension).
The Catalina/Ventura are a shorter wheelbase, so the body is shorter than the Bonneville but the roof itself isn't changed.
Since there's no scratchbuilding involved with the roof, it should be okay. One of these days I want to get the Ventura kit, it's such a great looking car.
You might want to check on forums like Model Cars Magazine & Spotlight Hobbies and ask there; more people on those boards are likely to be familiar w/the subject matter.
