Stalls when cold

I have a '96 3ltr pushrod that stalls as soon as I put it in drive when the engine is cold. If I let the engine warm up for a few minutes then it's OK. There are no codes showing and the car runs fine for the rest of the day. This only happens after it's been sitting over night and the temp outside is below freezing. I live in the frozen north ( Canada ) so this is now happening every morning. Other than moving to Florida what are your opinions ?

Which 3.0L engine does your 96 have, the 12 valve Vulcan or the 24V Duratech? If the Duratech, you might have an issue with the Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC). Either engine could also have an issue with the Idle Air Control (IAC) or the Coolant Temperature Sensor (CTS) as well as an EGR valve that is not fully closing, as well as any other vacuum leak.
Have you checked for any diagnostic codes?

I have the 12 valve Vulcan, I will check the items you suggested, and also scan it again to see if I can get a code. This may take me a day or two as Xmas is almost upon us and the family have a ton of things for me to do. But I will keep you updated on what I find.
Thanks Rod.
