Some assembly required...

I was just gonna add this onto my bad day thread, but this is a whole other ball game... I decided today that I would assemble my new computer desk by myself. I should have known better right from the start, but NOOOO. I get it started, and "discover that the stupid chinamen built it wrong" only for my dad to walk in and tell me I built it wrong, so I got to start all over again. Also, why is it that when you have a system of 4 screws (aka 2 on the left and 2 on the right), 3 fit perfectly, and the 4th is radically off target??? Back on track: I finish it after 2.5+ hours, and can't get it into its designated area. :( Luckily my brother helped me...
Anyways, my point is, if we know how frustrating "Some assembly required" can be, why do we always come back for more?!?! :angryfire: Why don't they just supply you with Valium from the start of such projects so you don't care that nothing ever goes as it should...

I prefer to do it myself and save the couple of bucks. I'm a builder, I guess. :D

Ah - I remember assembling my desk :). A gorgeous corner unit with sliding drawers and all, a computer holder, and a hutch on top.
Anyways - I had to redrill almost ALL the holes, because they were horribly off target, and the plates wouldn't line up. It looks good now though, but it took me about 8 hours to put the damned thing together!

I guess I just suck. I bought mine already put together, and had them deliver it. :silly2:

When I bought mine, it was a nightmare. Because I just had to have the corner unit. You know, the one where the main section is one friggin' piece:mad:. Well, 2 hours later, I had my computer station built and it's actually pretty cool.:D
