fuel pump tester

I have a 91 1/2 ton c/k silverado with 350. I think the fuel pump may be getting weak. I was wondering if someone could give me some tips on different testers. Is one better than another? I would like to get something that will test TBI as well as one with fuel rail, if that is possible at a reasonable cost. I have been looking on line at the Actron cp7838, but I don't know that much about them now. Its been to long since I purchased a fuel tester.
The pickup doesn't act up all the time. Only when it is damp. I am also thinking it could be distributor cap, but I'm not real sure how to check it. I know they can have cracks but I have looked when it is dark with engine running and don't see anything under the hood jumping sparks. Acts just like the clutch isn't fully releasing ( jumps) but it only does it when it is damp, and I just put a clutch in it about a year ago.
Thanks

On fuel pump you need a fuel pump pressure testing gauge .
Scanner will not test fuel pump pressure.
But always check fuel trim readings or block learn raadings when you have a scanner on it.

Cp 7838 is not a scanner it is a Professional Fuel Pressure test kit. I was just wondering if someone had experience with different pressure test kits made by different companies and if one was better than another or all about the same. Need one to test TBI as well as fuel rail type but didn't want to spend and arm and leg.

Older TB injection you need adapters to hook in at fuel filter line to check pressure.

you need an accurate pressure gauge..high quality..then with different adaptors you can measure any pressures..no need to spend alot of money for this..
I have a pressure gauge that is only used to check the other gauges I have , that are working gauges.

Thanks for the input. This tester I am looking at says it will test both and it has the adapters. Thanks again
