Will you buy a Tamiya Lexus LFA?

I think I will. I love Tamiya kits and it will look good next to my GT-R.What do you think? Mark

No. I don't think the LFA is a good looking car and have no interest in it whatsoever.

To each its own. I personally like it. But I think I can design a better looking front for it. The front is just too much IS350 for me. The back is just perfection.

The back and sides don't bother me much, but the front does! I like Lexus' LS, IS and GS designs, but like you said, Lexus could have done a much better job with the LFA's front, IMO.

Yes. I don't have a particular liking to the car. I just can't resist new kits. Fujimi or Aoshima would probably make a better version anyway lol. An interesting way whoever will mold the body will be tho. It has crazy angles by the rear quarter window/ventlet.

If they make it, probably. It's a gorgeous car.

I guess I could be convinced to buy/build one, not my favorite design but it's interesting. Doesn't matter if it's Tamiya/Fujimi/Aoshima/Hasegawa.

I agree though, if any of the companies come out with it, I'll get one.

i prefer tamiya not to make it (and it wont for sure), they can rather invest their very limited possibilities into another kit

They tried too hard to make it look like a supercar by sticking a bunch of scoops and vents on an otherwise fairly plain design.

I'd probably get a kit of it to play with though.

I would be surprised if they did not make it. Mark

Aha. I would assume it's going to be for real.

Considering the myriad of ways the car can be spec'd out for 1:1 customers, it could be a fun kit to play with.

When the car was finally unveiled I figured one of the Japanese companies would have to do a kit of it.

I'd probably buy one but I'm not a fan of the front. Would be a definite +++ if they'd include the V10 :naughty:

Personally though, I'd rather have them make the Ferrari 458 Italia first! Nothing sells like a prancing horse.

The one aspect of this car I love is that scoop over the rear side window. Something really different that makes me wonder if it just overlays the window glass or the glass contours around it. No photos I've seen really show this.

Maybe the kit is worth it to cut this scoop out and mold it to a GT-R ..

I think its a decent design, no espirit, diablo or enzo though. Does anyone know if this is their replacement for the supra? Was the new supra project canned by toyota?

If tamiya, fujimi, or aoshima make it, i think it would be a nice model to put on the shelf.

It is not the 'new Supra'...if it was it would be in the $35-45.000 range instead of the LFA's $350-400,000 range.

Toyota has been preoccupied being the new General Motors...too busy building SUV's and letting their quality slip as well as getting in financial trouble.:nono:

Yes, its really quite odd Toyota has finally released the LF-A. Probably because they've spent so much time and $$$ on it. Either that or the rich haven't been quite affected by the global downturn of the economy anyway. :p

Not to get off topic but what about the FT86? Definitely a sign of the times where Toyota needs to team up with all companies, Subaru. Its too bad they're using a flat-4 power plant. It goes well in a Subaru but shoved in a Toyota!? :screwy: Personally I would've still like to see a Yamaha or similarly developed engine in there.

The front is reminiscent of the original monkeemobile but i'd go for the fujimi version.

OK, you've just made it much cooler for me. But nah, I'm not buying it. Come to think of it, I can't think of any design in the last 10 years that I like enough to buy a kit of....

Meh. The M3 and S4 are just not as cool as the versions that came before them. And as impressive as the Veyron is, I still can't get myself to actually like it. :dunno:

I'd love to see an E46 or an E90/92/93 M3... but I think BMW must not like giving out licensing or its just too damn expensive for the plastic kit companies to be worth it. An M5 would also be luscious too (I just love them sporty 4-doors).

Other notable cars I'd want to see... Koenigsegg CCX-R, Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, Pagani Zonda R, etc. etc. etc.

Well, the design is not outstanding, but certainly not the most ugly. At least it would have been acceptable if presented 20 years ago as a futursitic design, while many of the cars of today would have looked old at that time.

:iagree: Very Much, not enough bimmers as models....only those damn ugly, crappy made (autoart is the exception) diecasts ....:swear:

In short, YES! (Letīs just hope that Tamiya doesīnt model the pricetag....)

It's still just an overpriced Toyota, this is one that will for sure be left on the shelf by myself. I prefer to build kits that have earned a place in motoring history.

Absolutely not.

The thing looks like a hyper-Supra at ten times the cost with a funky body kit. And apparently, even with a capable chassis, the thing is really all engine.

Then there's Tamiya's pricing, which gets ever more arrogant with each successive release.

And ya damn betcha I'll be preordering mine.
