1997 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE @175K
Every so often, when going over a bump, the dash lights go out. Sometimes for a while, sometimes they come back on. I'm thinking there is a main plug or harness that may be loose. Any ideas on what/where to check?
Thanks.

By dash lights do you mean the instrument cluster, information center above the cluster and all the control knob back lighting or just one of these?

By dash, I meant the cluster. It just goes out. Other exterior lights, interior lights, etc are good. I assume a loose connection because of the bumps, but...

Probably a problem with the cluster connector or the bad solder joint issue plaguing many 3rd generation vans. This shows you how to gain access to and if need be resolder the connector solder joints on the cluster circuit board: http://www.flickr.com/photos/landar/ Click "98t&c dash removal" on right column then slideshow at upper right.

I've had the dash out on it before and it is pretty easy and straightforward. The pics about the solder connection and cracked points on the back of the speedo, are very interesting and informative. Thanks for that. Now I know what to check.
