3.1 3800 engine

my chevy lumina has only 103000 miles on it and its a 97, i drive it hard and my engine has been knockin, it still has power that it used to and all but my engine is going bad, and when it shifts to second gear it seems to over rev then jump into second. i need some comments to help my lumina run the best it can!

Welcome to AF, 3.1 3800 engine what does this mean? Trans slips into second and the engine knocks, what is it that we could tell you here?
