trans swap

so I bought a 98 dohc 2 door neon sport. It was just supposed to be a reliable transport. But I got myself thinking about some big upgrades. But I don't want to put too much into an auto trans. Now I know the swap can be done. But I have never done any work that involved. So does anyone have any ideas on how much it would cost to have done? And if my local trans shop would be able to do the job? And also I am new to this site. I have read several threads in the past that I have found helpful but just made an account today.any info would be great thanks

Read the link above and it will give you a rough estimate of how much it would cost. In all honesty, it would be cheaper to buy a neon with an MTX already in it or get a totaled neon that has a MTX that way you have all the necessary parts for the swap.
