Engine ID

We have the #41 Panoz GTRA, but are not sure of what the engine is from.
It's the 5.0l Ford, the intake is reversed, the intake opens to the drivers
side, throttle body, mass air, fuel pressure regulator are all on the left side.
I am used to the Mustang 5.0l engines which had all that on the passenger side.
Not sure if it's from an Explorer, or Australian Falcon...
I know that Crown Victoria engines had this set up, but have never
heard of those being used for the Panoz.

Any ideas

Thanks

The intake on backwards is an indication that that it is the Austrailian Falcon motor. The Explorerer motors intake looks a bit different.

With everything these cars have been through there is no telling what may actually be under the intake. The short block could have been replaced, who knows.

Is there a specific part that you are looking for that you need to know the engine ID?
