Sliding Door in Cold Weather

My driver's side sliding door freezes up in winter--any thoughts? I've read the threads with the door problems for Sienna's. I have about 55,000 miles on it--is this the first step in those door problems that you guys listed? I tried to open it and was unsuccessful. That caused the beeping to happen during the drive home. That caused me to turn on the interior lights, climb into the back seat, and shove the door open. The door then closed tightly, but I forgot to turn off the interior lights. I'm now on my second new battery in five years.... I love this vehicle but am leasing. My lease is up at the end of this month and was going to purchase it. Any thoughts on major repairs that you are aware of? Thanks!
