I'm a reporter with The Associated Press and I'm curious about buyers' feelings about Chrysler. Would you buy a Chrysler right now? Or not? Please send me a message through the site's private messaging system with your thoughts. Thank you.

Are we talking As a whole (Dodge/Jeep/ & Chrysler) or just Chrysler brand?

I'd buy a Dodge or a Jeep in a heart beat, not so much a Chrysler. None of their cars/trucks/suvs are apealing at all

I can tell you right now there will be a 50/50 split on this issue. People that can count past 10 and like to read books instead of burn them will dislike Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep. People whose houses typically have wheels on the bottom and whose food intake consists solely of Hot Rods, cigarette butts and Busch beer will approve of the aforementioned brands. HA HA HA!!!

Seriously, they have to clean up their act in order to gain my interest. Their cars 1) use too much fuel, 2) have cheap materials in their interiors (save for the new RAM and Jeep Patriot), and 3) have questionable reliability. And the biggest kick in the pants is the way most of them drive. You get in a Caliber and you can feel that it was made at the expense of engineering and quality to meet a target price. Sound deadening was left out, suspension components weren't tuned, and while the interior gets light-up cupholders, the headliner is made of cardboard.

Jeep needs to stay true to its roots - keep the Wrangler, keep building tough SUV's, but get efficient with the engines and bring up the reliability.

Dodge needs to remain the affordable performance brand and enhance this with better small car offerings, and making their higher performing large vehicles more efficient. Dodge needs to be careful with SUV's, Jeep can tackle the tough ones and Chrysler can make the luxurious ones, Dodge should make trucks and maybe a Suburban-competitor based on the Ram but not midsize or compact SUV's. Keep the Caravan and Journey, make the Journey sportier but don't SUV-ify it. And keep SRT cars, they are limited in number and account for the bad-ass image of Dodge.

And lastly Chrysler needs to make up the luxury car spectrum with a more practical car than the 300 that can wear a sedan, hatchback and wagon bodystyle (a'la Cadillac CTS). The Sebring needs to be completely redesigned, a new small car needs to be introduced that keeps a luxury focus, and the top end needs to be bolstered with high quality luxury vehicles - car-based unibody SUV's and luxury sedans.

Hmm compleatly forgot about the 300C, I'd buy that one.

Ready for this?

Dodge Journey, C&D really liked it, thought it was slightly under powered but it gets great gas mileage and has a great interior, the Patriot sucks balls. I'd take the Grand cherokee over any Jeep, after that the Wrangler 4 door. after that the wrangler 2 door. Though I'd like to see and independent suspension on the 4 door.

Chrysler needs to shape up though, the 3 best cars in its lineup are still second best to its (literaly) identical counter parts in Dodge.

The Caliber, Avenger, and the Neon (glad they got rid of the Neon :D) are just horrid cars. That whole campain should just be thrown in the can. The Sebring needs a complete over-haul and the challenger needs a Convertible :D lol

This whole Fiat thing could either turn out really really good, or really really bad. I pray something good comes from it.

So my dad, who just built and moved into a million dollar house, is a person "whose houses typically have wheels on the bottom and whose food intake consists solely of Hot Rods, cigarette butts and Busch beer will approve of the aforementioned brands. "? Right.....

*LMAO, it came up as "Vote Now" instead of Save

You know having answered over 4000 questions through various channels I smell a real " Magic Rat "

I really hope I am wrong by you telling me why consumers have to email you ? whats wrong with just posting answers ?

Being a reporter with the Associated Press, to prove your point post some links.

Again I am sorry, but your post just don't sit well with me, and I really wish you prove me wrong.

Your question could be asked on any street corner, why a forum ?
