GM Ignition Cycle

Can someone tell me the definition of an "ignition cycle" as it relates to DTC setting and clearing?

The most basic deffinition would be the starting of the car driving until fully warmed up and shutting off. That would be one ignition cycle.

Readiness monitors (these are the system tests that the computer does to make sure everything is working and/or turn on turn off the check engine light for different situations is a whole other ball game. The vehicle may need to be driven for x amount of miles at x speed for x number of trips before a fault code is triggered or deleted. You could literally drive a vehicle for years under certain circumstances and never complete some monitor tests.

Thanks for the reply! I do have the definition of the "driving cycle" which is your reference for other tests. I was curious about the ignition cycle since some of the DTC's mention that as the basis for clearing a current or history DTC.
