alarm issue with a new battery

Hello working on a base model 01 grand am with keyless entry and factory installed alarm. I put a new battery in it and the alarm started going off. i disconected the battery and reconnected it but everytime i shut the car off and start it again or even using the key fob or the actual key the alarm will sound .. how do i shut the alarm up..

Did you replace hte key fob battery or the cars battery ?

If it was the keyfob you might have the wrong battery.
Will it shut off when you hit the red button on the KF ?

that is strange.... does it shut off though when you hit the panic button on your keyfob ??
