My "service ride control" warning came on today. I have searched the forum and all I find is about air shocks. My 2002 3/4 ton Suburban has the electronic shocks, no air. Is there a common problem I should check? It is the first really cold day we have had, if that means anything.

Fuses is first thing to check.
To trouble shoot the system you will need a ride control capable scanner.
if you have any codes on it post back code no.

Thanks for the reply.
I just found out that my local dealer is doing free diagnostic checks for a limited time. I have an appointment for Saturday to get it checked out.
I don't have access to the proper scan tool.

Free sounds good.
Let us know what they find.

They found that the ride height sensor linkage on the left front suspension is broken, so the system isn't getting information from it.
They had to order the new linkage, parts and labor will be $105, could have been worse.

Good things because those front shocks are 450.00 each at the dealer. You can get many OEM parts and updated stuff for autoride system at:
http://www.arnottindustries.com/products/missingproduct.asp
I also got an light but just reset it by disconnecting batt and hooking back up per a chevy dealer friend. Haven't seen light since and he stated sometimes the system freezes up. If something is realy wrong, it will always come back. I also lube up those arms and parts for that system...

Sorry to drag up this old thread, but my "service ride control" light is on again. I know what is wrong with it. The ride height sensor mounting bracket on the passenger side front broke, it's just hanging there.
I searched online for a new one with no luck. Can anyone tell me where I can get one? Is it dealer only?

Dealer or bone yard.
Depend on year and luck dealer parts may be dis continued.

FYI, The sensor is available from the dealer. The only problem is they said that by my VIN# it would fit my 2002. The new one has a socket on it to plug my wire into but the old one was molded in so I have no plug. I used the bracket from the new one as a pattern, made a new one and remounted my old sensor.
I now have a ride height sensor assembly that will fit 2004-2012 vehicles, part #15267456, to sell if anyone needs one:)
