cd player wont play

I recently had a cd that was stuck in my cd player (Grand Prix 2004). A dealership pulled it out. They stated there was an issue with my player. Which I might add it was working perfectly. They actually never checked it. It won't let me stick another cd in. It looks like there is a pin on each side of the player that shouldnt be there, I am not sure. Does any body have any suggestions other than putting a new one in, which I cant afford to do.:nono:

Sounds like the CD player still "thinks" there is a disc in there. I had that happen to one of mine once. Same deal. Disk was in, it would not eject, I took it apart, manually took the disc out, but that did not help because it would no longer accept discs and said one was still in there.

I ended up just junking it and getting a new one.

Some times the opto sensor get dusty and causes the problem, or if it uses a switch. The switch can be bad. Which will also cause the same problem, where the disk is not recognized.
