This is my fast job in a S2000. Except the rims is OOB. I did a little modification in front and rear arms to lowered the car. The color is Evolution Orange, coated with Uretane High Solid clear. Tamiya Z-tune wheels and tires. Turned shifter, acetate in dashboard, seatbelt hardware from Mr. Model, House of Kolor Kosmic Krome in rear end, Shocks, exaust system, brakes, etc...

Looking good, what you can do is use a little microset on those sponser decals. The set will go underneath and make it so the decal film will not be visible. I like the color.

yeh just put some microsol or set on them, making sure it goes underneath the decal. Then there should be no decal film.

Glad to see someone actually showing how to fix a problem without the usual freakout "I have to strip the body" emotions that are so completely unnecessary.

Excellent photo tutorial...you are doing in scale what is done on a real car.

Just say "no" to matte orange. Matte paint is a passing fad...clearcoat please!

I don't know how orange would look matt - but I don't think it's a bad thing to do a faddish quick build. I'm doing a flat gold Integra right now. Great work on the car, and I also like the paint repair. I'd never be able to get a good result like that. I also love the carbon on the hood, meeting down the center with different direction weave is a great idea!

fantastic.
best example of a paint repair job i have seen on a model car.

this is probably one of the things that makes me really want to get an airbrush.

Bob thank you very much!!! As I mentioned in other board, I'm following your job a few years ago in the others boards and SAM. I'm really love your work and your kind of words to me, its a best award to won for any modeler!

I agree with you in whole "matte finish" thing is just a passing fad, but I'm build cars since 1998 I think, and all my models are polished and shined. So, I'm looking for something different to my glass display.

I really hope don't disapoint you, but I'm building 2 import cars and they both will be matte. The orange S2K and a Nismo GT-R 34 will be black with Nismo graphs. I hope to finish the couple in this week to compete on IPMS Campinas on next sunday. I'll post tomorow GT-R w.i.p. pics.

I'm planning to build a '33 ford roadster in matte gray also.

Thanks guys to very cool posts...

I have a little update.

In the first mock-up, I was used Nismo Rays wheels. But today, in final mock-up I was decided to change rims to Rays Volk Racing CE-28 19" from Aoshima. Chassi was done a few months ago, all Tamiya... so, the following pics are from wheels modifications in my lathe to fit in Tamiya disc brakes.

Love all the work on the alclad looking colors of the exhaust and interior is just fin in my book. Zoomzoom fixing chips in scale modeling is not al that hard but it depends on the paint type used, as to the method used to fix it.
If your using an Enamel a lot of guys that don't have strong skills will tell you strip the hole car and start over. This would be an inaccurate process. You can use some of the same parts of this method to fix most any chips. You just have to use a lighter cote and spray pressure (If you have a pressure regulator on you compressor) to lay down your base cote and then you color cote. Remember that this step would only happon after you use some type of body filler or light colored putty.

Most of all I'm glad he showed it as most would not. An "Bossolani" I'm working on gettion a lathe as well.

Xing rear are stock. In front I add 2mm stirene on arms to upper a little the spindles. You can see on picture the stirene piece add.

Thanks White!! I'm really glad with your post. I have no secrets!!! If some modelers show us some technics, our hobby will be more easy to do, to repair, to build, to modified.

I'd used House of Kolor Kosmic Krome, I don't use Alclad anymore. HOK Krome results are gorgeous and could be clearcoated.

I'm loving my Sherline, I had purchased in february and I'm still learning to use. It is my best aquisition on hobby at moment.

Thanks!!!

That S2000 is looking great!

Wow man! you have a lathe!!....yesterday i tried to make some brake disc, and i was thinking...this would be a lot easier if i have a lathe, and i also have the same problem with some rims i bought in hobbysearch, they are fujimi and i also pick a kit from aoshima..but all the kits i have are tamiya so, i have to do some work to putt them.

Well...good luck and please keep posting!

Hi Cesar,
Your S2000 is looking great!
Thank you for showing the process of the paint chip repair.
I was somewhat hesitant to accepting your choice of color combination,
but the last picture gave me a greater sense that this really will look amazing.
Keep up the precise clean work!
