On my way to work the other day my truck died I checked under the hood everything looked fine and it started and made it to the shop and died as I was pulling in. wouldn't start so I checked didn't look like I was getting spark. New coil, cap and rotor later same thing. towed it home charged the batt. took off the fuel filter (only 6 moths old) looked fine got between 20 and 50 psi at the intake manifold. Running out of ideas. I got a distributor module and pick up coil having trouble getting the dis. apart there is a weird cap that's kida loose on there not sure it I need to pry off. Any help or sugestions would be great. 195K plugs and wires look good only 6months old.

If you are taking about the dist cap look for screws on side that holds it on.

Did you just tell us you put a new cap and rotor on it?

How are you checking for spark?

20-50 lbs of fuel pressure is no good.
How are you checking fuel pressure?

Specs are 55/61 lbs.

You should see 60 key on prime up and 60 cold cranking.

You can not leave home with out 60 lbs.

really ok thanks might be the fuel pump. I got a pressure gauge and hooked it to the fitting near the distributor. I did the cap and rotor a week ago I have the distributor out now to try to replace the pick up coil the cap I was talking about is under the rotor above the pickup coil. I checked for spark with a screw driver my buddy said he didn't see anything. But if it's the fuel pump I'll probubly take it in don't really want to do it myself seems like a big job.

You need to get good spark first.

No spark and the fuel pump will not turn on.
The dist module can be replaced after pulling cao and rotor.
But.
To replace the pick up coil you have to pull dist and remove dist gear and shaft.
