Lanzante GTR

Hi all.
Got a book this week called British Motorsport yearbook 96/97.It has a decent double page shot of the rare Lanzante livery car in blue and yellow.It is a moving picture so a bit blurred.It got me thinking that this is one of the only models that has not been made.
I sent a message to autobarn models, whom i have bought about 15 GTR's from,and they said they have wanted to make this car,but have no decent pictures of it.
They where in touch with Mr Lanzante himself ,but still waiting for photos.

Has anyone got any decent shots of the car.I have only seen a couple on the forum!
It was the last model GTR i bought in its Lloyds livery[flux&ulrich],but it raced in the different Lanzante as well.

It would be nice to have some additional shots of that, and also more photos of the car in the Lloyds' livery. It was even displayed at a British Motorshow in the Blue/White Lloyds scheme, so I am surprised there aren't a few more shots in circulation of that.

The Team Carl Blue/Silver livery on 21R has also never been done. Nor has the original 1997 GTR Presentation Livery on 19R with the pink and yellow flourescent squiggles that I can recall.

I'm not 100% keen on the Lanzante livery on #02R, a bit plain. I'd definitely buy the Llyods livery model however :)

Finally we got this Lazante's livery some new things on the table! :)
I have only one shot collected at this livery, and it's taken from this Location Of GTR's Thread. (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=753270)

So this livery were painted on #02R some point? Some one remember the year, when #02R was having this Lazante's blue/yellow livery?
And do I remember right; it was used on Promotion shows?

Thanks for the pictures.They might help make the model one day.I sent some of the MVR gtr to Autobarn a few years back ,and that model got made.
I agree that it's not a very pretty livery,but it would be nice to have models of all the race livery's
I forgot about the two long tail cars not done yet! Collections are never complete.
I had to stop collecting every single livery,e.g Gulf livery varied at different races, as the cost was getting out of hand.Many of the Autobarn cars i bought have since been made by IXO for a lot less cost.

There is one for sale at the moment for £220 from Alex Reade Motorsport and I was thinking of getting that one as it is the only one I have seen pops up on eBay - I paid 1/3 of that for mine.

About that 2010 years GTR's, Minichamps has allready put some delay that 95 Le Mans winner 1/18 model. It should be out of March 2010 this information what I have. So atleast that one should be next year thing.

With all the recent chatter about #04R I was thinking about this car too. A long time ago I had someone promise to send me current photos of it and they never materialized in my inbox. I'll try another request.

Also, a user in here once offered to share additional photos of it in its Lloyds livery. Wonder if I can track him down too?

Okay - two emails went out this morning to people I haven't contacted since 2004 about #02R. I guess it is true - I really don't like to bug anyone. :lol:

I also sent another email yesterday in regards to comments made here back in 2004 about a certain blue F1. A positive response to my speculation would assist with solving one more mystery. In this case, I only recalled the comments a few days earlier and then had to track them down to be sure of my memory.

I'll hope for the best on replies from all, but that's a long time to have waited in all three cases. :redface:

Talking of 02R,

There was an article in CCC magazine, way back at the tail end of 96. That featured 02R in a data logging article, unfortunately I do not have a copy of the mag, but I did see a year end review section in one recently, that showed that the article was covered, I,ll search it out and post up :grinyes:.

Well no luck for me with my old source on #02R. I got a reply, but he has long since purged any photos he would have had of the car. Two things were mentioned. One, that he believes the car is still owned by Lanzante. The second was that it has had catalysts fitted for a conversion to road use.

I'm not sure if comment #1 is still true or if anyone was aware of fact #2?

The top shot is DEFINITELY sponsorship related, as it shows theEsprit windscreen repair system in use !

I'll check my archive as I may have a cd-rom from that company with more footage/photos.

Touching on this thread again, I recently conversed with an ex-F1 driver who tested this Lanzante car back in the day :). Unfortuantely he couldn't remember too much about the car, as he drives an awful lot of cars in both his testing and racing role :)

Does anyone have info or clear enough images of the round decals (marked below) on the roof of the 02R Lanzante during the 1996 BRDC GT races? That info would be needed to produce the decals for scale model if I'm lucky enough. ;)

The company logo is AstraTech data logging, although it may say AstraTech race technology. See post 25, that magazine article may help, as it is an article on said equipment :wink: also it may have some better pics for research material, or better still contact name of the photographer.

Appears to read 'AstraTech' to me, and that would make some sense as that logo would belong to this company:

Haven't seen the condition, but I can assure you the car is in good hands and hopefully we see it again after a while.

November 1996 is the issue required.
