What to use

Hi all could anybody help me, i need engine wires here in South Africa
we dont get detail master products an nobody will import them for you, i have used the last of what i had could anybody help me with a substitute, for wiring
please.

Import them yourself. HobbyEasy and Hobbylink Japan have a good selection of sizes in various colours. I bought KA models plug wire recently, and it's really inexpensive. While you're at it stock up on other detailing items, like rivets, bolt heads, etc.

Shipping to SA is expensive or risky. I use EMS if I have an expensive order, to make sure it gets sent with a tracking number and to arrive quickly. Normal airmail is much cheaper, but you're at the mercy of the SA Post Office. Not for me!

If you have any old electronics laying around that will never be used again, tear them apart and see if there are any wires that can be used. Newer headphones usually have some rather thin wires. You could strip the outer shielding and use the inner wire, though it won't be able to be formed to shape as easily. You could use stretched sprue, I've done this many times. Really thin wire and magic markers can yield some rather convincing wires and hoses. Electric motors have some thin wire that's great for modeling (use the copper windings from the motor itself).

Also old portable cassette players have some really light gauge wires plus
they have the belt that drives the head, those are perfect for 1/24/25
fan/alternator/accessory belts.

I've heard people rip apart usb cables for thin gauge wires.
