Just spent $242 on a piece of rubber.

So anyways my Spyder has been leaking water in it for like the past 3 years. It leaks where the top meets the windshield frame. It has finally gotten so bad, that I despise driving it...even worse than usual. And since I dont plan on getting rid of the car, I bit the bullet and called the dealership and ordered the $242 piece. Which is actually a good deal, the regular price is $310 but I ordered it through my store and got a discount. Whenever it comes in and I get time to install it, I will take some pictures. I have never really replaced anything like that before. I'm about to buy a high speed buffer too, so after that Im going to buff the whole car and repaint the sideskirts myself (they're faded), and paint the door handles (dont match because of failed previous paint attempts. After that....ECU swap and up the boost and run some 8's.
Just felt like talking.
Later.

That sucks but you do what you got to do. Still cheaper than having it constantly leaking and ruining the inside. And at leasy you got a discount.
I honestly thought it was going to be something about tires and a really expensive condom.

Nah, I wouldnt spend 250 on one tire, and I dont use condoms, so....had to be weatherstripping right?

Ok this was partially my fault for getting off topic. I, VG you should do a writeup for the tech section with some pics when installing. You're the only regular with a Spyder and I people come here every now and then asking for how to's on that.

So a little update on this.
When I initially ordered the piece, the guy told me that I would have it in 3 to 4 days. A week later I still hadn't recieved my part, so I call the dealership up that I ordered it from. The guy then informed me that the part was no longer available. So I'm like.....why didnt you tell me that a week ago?
But anyways, the reason I ordered it from the dealership to start with is because, after a long time of searching on the internet and calling aftermarket weatherstrip providers, I couldn't find it anywhere.
As luck would have it, the day after I ordered it, I miraculously stumbled upon the same part on ebay for the same price I was paying the dealership. So quite naturally after my original order fell through, I ordered from ebay. Should be here next week.

What a waste of time.
I called Advanced auto when I wanted to get the fuel tank seal. They told me "I have to order it from the dealer and it will take a couple days so come on down and we can get that ordered" I'm like sweet I'll be down. I get down there and he's like, "yeah I can't order that". So I called first and verified that they could get it, then he told me to come down just so he can tell me that he couldn't get it.
Glad your still able to get it anyway.

Yea some of these people that work at those stores are dumbasses. Some really know what they are talking about but others not so much. There are some advance auto stores around here that I quit going to bc I never get the right parts i need. I was trying to get a gasket for my exhaust and the dude kept asking me what car it was for. He didn't understand it wasn't a factory part I guess.

In my town the guys at Advanced are more useful than autozone guys but NAPA guys seem to be the best to deal with
