I heard that the P11 seats come with heaters built in and all you have to do is connect the switches. Anybody know whats involved?

I think only the leather ones would come with heaters but shouldn't they be hooked up already. Where'd you hear this from?

It was at the dealership. The salesman (no longer werken there) said the heater is already there. they just wire it up when you order the option. Also, i looked under the seat. there are wiring going under and into the passenger seat.
Im think im gonna take it apart this weekend...

those wires might be wires to your seatbelt indicators, so when your seatbelts clipped in it'll turn off that annoying light
Edit: i forgot, what about the switches for these, wouldn't they go in right next to your ebrake, where those dummy buttons are??? how much do you think these are??

yep the heated seat switch is right next to the e-brake.
you can probably use a different 3 position rocker switch.
it has high, low, and off.

No time to look.
also, i have a cd changer just kinda placed under the passenger seat. I wanted to mount it to the seat but i'm concerned the heater may damage the unit. There is also a air vent there which I think i should plug up or direct the the air somewhere else. Any suggestions?
I'm gonna take the seat out and take a look first chance i get...

Well, I have leather seats and they did not come w/ the optional heated seats which I wanted.
Several people at the dealership told me that there was no way to add the option in. The seats either come with or without the heaters from the factory.

What wiring could this be? Its from inside the e-brake casing, goes under the carpeting then plugs onto a silver metal plate under the passenger seat near the front / center (which is the reason why I havn't mounted the changer yet. Is that for the seat belt?

Ya, I looked too and there is a big metal thing on the bottom of the seat that looks like it would be a heater or something.. Can't imagine what else it would be..

Heaters are built into the seat not underneath. What happens if you have the heater on and you stick your hand under your seat to grab something, you burn it???
I think you guys are on a wild goose chase. The seats dont come with disabled heaters. That would be like your car coming w/ a CD changer but the cable isnt hooked up to the head unit. :p
If you want heated seats, you will need new seats.
