I have an 88 1500 4x4 that now has a 4L60E and was told a "donor" tranny from a 94 chevy blazer with a 700R4 tranny would fit. Yes no? The transfer case in the "donor" has the push button selector which I don't really need. Will it fit?

Your 88 did not originally come with a 4L60E. So it was converted to use a 4L60E?
The 94 Blazer would have had the 4L60E originally not a 700R4 (4L60).
Not sure if you have this backwards but to run a 4L60E in your truck will require a computer to control shifts.
You should be looking for a 87 to 92 700R4 out of a truck.

The blazer I know does have the 700R4. with the 4.3L vortec engine. It was just rebuild. My 88 Has the 4L60 with over drive. This is what A local junk yard told me that the 4L60 came stock in my 88 4x4. I know the transfer case in the blazer is different, because that is controlled electronically where my 88 is stick. SO Now my question is, will the transmission out of the blazer bolt up to my transfer case and engine block? Thank you.

4L60 is a 700R4. I thought the 700R4 was produced thru 1992. If the Tranny in the Blazer is a 4x4 700R4, then it will bolt up to your transfer case.

Actually you have that backwards, the 88 came with a 700R4 and the 94 came with a 4L60E.
They are NOT interchangable..

my mistake, its a 4L60 not a 4L60E. When I bought the truck it had a 350 tranny. I went to napa to get a filter and they told me it came with a 4L60. I'm guessing the person that owned it before me had a 350 on hand and swapped it. When that went I replaced it with a 4L60. Now this ones slipping (has since I got it used) and I got a good deal on this donor truck with a rebuilt 700R4. It will fit right?

The 4L60 and 700R4 is the exact same transmission they were just renamed. The 4L60E is the electronic version of the 4L60 (700R4).
The 4L60E came into production in mid 1993 SO.......
If your donor truck is a 1994, it will have a 4L60E
You have a 700R4 which needs replacing SO......
The donor trucks transmission will not work.
The donor truck's transmission is computer controlled where your 700R4 is not.
To show you what I mean, look on the passenger side of the donor transmission just above the pan where the electrical connector plugs in. If this is a round, green connector with about 10 wires going into it, it is a 4L60E. Now, look at the 700R4 of yours which needs rebuilding, the connector on it should be a small white 4 pin connector.
