Hey everybody,
looking back at this project, it still amazes me that it took me about 3 1/2 years to finish this one. I started the WIP-thread sometime in 2006.
The build has been basically nearly done for 1 1/2 years. Now I managed to add the missing stickers and parts.
The completed model is displayed with the co-drivers door open. Therefore I spent a good amount of time detailing the interior using the SMS CLK DTM Carbon Fiber Set and some wiring.
For the exterior I needed two sets of the decals since the parts of the decals came off when I wanted to take the masking tape of the model. The engine bay and other parts have been detailled using the SMS PE-set.
In the end I can see that this modelling experience has been ... haunting. Nevertheless Iīm up for another massive decal job. These cars just look too good with a fantastic livery.

Looks good Robert. I am working on the Warsteiner livery MB DTM 2000 right now and am interested in opening the driver side door. Could you elaborate on what you did with the passenger side door to open it up?
Thanks,
Stuart

Where is the door? Great build, but there are no co-drivers in DTM. ;)

Finally this one got done, i thought it was already done and never saw the finished thread. Sweet job on the decals and overall build. But arent the rear tires a little too close to the body?

Will be done. I was just to excited to do the pictures. I should go for more accuracy on the finishing straight and donīt let me taken away for a picture session.

I used a sharp knife and worked through the panel lines. Itīs not that hard. You just need to be patient not to break anything or actually scratch over the parts that need to be painted later.
Where is the door? Great build, but there are no co-drivers in DTM
The door wonīt be displayed as long as I donīt get a larger case to storage the model in. There is no room yet to put it on display. And as long as it canīt be displayed it will no be finished
But arent the rear tires a little too close to the body?
You are absolutely right. From my view solving this meant to rework the whole position of the rear wheel and supsension mountings - meaning that I would have needed to place them more backwards. That was simply too much for my skills. I will try to fix this by straightening the wheels.
Thanks for all your replies and criticism. Both are well appreciated.
Cheers

Does anybody know where I can find those wheels (1/24) .... the only ones I have seen are the ones that are part of this kit.....
I was hoping studio27 did them....
