Have a track that limits noise level to 99dBA at 30 feet. My guess is the Panoz GTWC is well over this. Any confirming infomation?

I have had problems at Road Atlanta with SCCA. I am running headers on my 4.6 and have had numbers to go as high as 104. The noise maching is placed on the back stretch and if I ran close to the wall on the side the sound people were on the number went down to 102+. The limit at R A is 103. I went and talked to the 2 gentlemen and that might have helped but not sure. I have to admitt they were very very nice about it.

Are you headers custom built or have you adapted off the shelf units? Everyone I talk to quotes around $3k for custom headers on the GTWC.

I had a guy give me the headers. I can't tell you how much they help but it seems like they do.

Glen and I installed some high flow Flowmasters (FLO-942550)- mostly for our own sanity - but the effect is still a nice exhaust note and even the Roebling Road Sunday Sound Police have passed us on.

I think Roebling sound level is 104db. There was another gtwc car there last year with stock exhaust and they didn't have a problem with the sound police. It must be the echo from the wall at RA.

Heck, Road Atlanta is tough - they black flagged me in my M3 -- my trick to quiet down the Panoz and still keep the "throaty" tune - drop an LS1 in - it's amazingly quieter than the Ford Motor.

My 347 with 450hp made 96 dB at Laguna Seca last December. I was using a 2 1/2" tubing DynoMax Super Turbo muffler. I didn't notice any loss of hp. The bad news is that the limit was 92 dB.
