Ok my boyfriend was driving down the road(200 miles from home) when his car died and won't restart. He is getting spark at the coil but nothing after that..He put in a new distributer and rotor and checked all his spark plugs before he left on his trip. could it be some kind of sensor??

Hard to say without testing about sensors.
Broke down on the road is a bad place to try to repair it.
And a bad place to leave it.
What year and kind of car and engine?
If getting spark from coil make sure it is getting spark on to all spark plugs.
Also make sure it is getting good fuel pressure.
I would suggest he get it towed to a good repair shop or even a auto zone parts store parking lot.
Auto zone stores will usually help and loan tools for testing and help with info on repairing it and sometimes help repair it.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
