Tomorrow I will be looking at a cressida for sale. The guy told me 500 bucks. It drives but will over heat after about two miles. He said he thinks it is the head gasket because the oil is like mix of antifreeze and oil. Could it be the head it self having a crack. but the car itself is in AWESOME condition indside and body. Does anyone have any ideas if the guy is saying the truth. if there is a bad gasket will it make the car over heat that fast? Because on my jetta I had a bad head gasket and it would only over heat like once every two weeks the anti freeze would disapear. Well is this a good deal? should I buy it. I am going there tomorrow.

Anti freeze is very damaging to bearings. Depending on how long it was in the engine. It could be a cracked head, block,or head gasket. If you can do this work yourself you can take a chance. Just have money to cover parts.
I would check with a few junkyards on the price of a good used engine.

I'am now driving an 89 cressida, I bought for $250.00 with a blown head gasket.
Had a crankcase full of "milkshake" oil and antifreeze.
I did it the cheapest way I could, no machine work, just a stock headgasket and it seems to be holding.
So my advise is to go for it!

Thanks. Ya I think its a good real. I did not get it. My dad said it is like a big risk money wise, cause I dont havethat much to spent. So I will wait for sometime before I get one of these cars. I think they are awesome. But I was wondering also which year is like the best to get. There is like differences, but how about problem wise besides the head gasket problem that they all have which one is like the most problem free? I like the 89 version cause it has the climate control thing and then the rims look more like a luxury car. But if anyone can give advise that will be tight.

This product looks to good to be true. But if he puts a jug in and changes oil and all leakage stops. You could offer to pay $500.00 and pay for the product.
If it still has problems don't buy it but plan on a new head gasket when it leaks again.

I was also wondering, like now these cars are becoming super old, does anyone do they have other problems with age that come up? like electronical one? How about the shocks, are they pretty good?

Electrical problems, timing belt, oil seals, if it is 5MGE or 7MGE
