Im considering buying a used dodge stratus 03, but it has 110,000 miles on it, which makes me hesitant, but i had a Honda and Hyundai that lasted for over 200,000 miles and were going strong, the one im looking at appears to be in good condition with no immediately noticeable problems, and im still waiting on a carfax report, but i want some opinions. If i take good care of it and keep up to date with fluid changes and keep everything in peak condition, could i get a decent number of miles out of this car or should i look for something else? the price were looking at is 5,000 which i think is reasonable if the car will last awhile, so what do you all think?

I posted an answer to a question a few days ago that is almost the same type question as you have posted.

Oooh, with most high-mileage options I wouldn't be too nervous but an '03 Stratus was a marginal car to begin with, and now it's had 6 years of use (or abuse) depending on who drove it. And that price is way too high. If you were talking $2500 I'd say you can't lose, but for $5000 you could get a more reliable car, even a Chev Impala. I drive a 2003 Mazda Protege5 (originally a $22K car) and the dealer offered me $3500 as a trade-in, I have 120,000 KMs on the car (75K miles) and its in good shape. Don't buy the Stratus - way overpriced, mediocre build quality, no major benefits. Look up a Hyundai Sonata or Elantra around the same year, they have low resale and have stood up well.
