hey guys...im finally looking to start logging on my VR4 so i can dial the boost up without feeling sick to my stomach. Im getting HHH software and cable for xmas:
http://www.handheldhalo-datalogging.co.uk/datalogging/product_pc_obdiv2.htm

Im looking to log on a netbook/laptop, so i was going to get the serial-to-usb cable they sell. 2 things are stopping me. 1; they're out of them. 2; they're like $30.

So my question is...will any ebay Serial-to-USB cable work? HHH calls theirs a "Mitsubishi Baud Rate" cable...is there really a difference? As long as i dont get a really cheap-o one i would think it would be fine...right?

there is a difference.. Theres a couple ebay ones you can use but they have to be specific. I don't know which ones off the top of my head but my friend does.. If you still need this info, I'll find out from him.

So if you are connecting straight to the diagnostic port, then you will need their cable. Otherwise, you will need a non-standard baudrate usb cable i.e. belkin or keyspan.

I didn't really understand that but if you got any more questions, I'll forward them to him.
