I've heard that their quality has gotten better, but I still would not get one!

imho cowl hoods are blah...keep stock hood and make it a sleeper if ur modding the motor...if ur going for looks then dont go more than a 3" hood

The engine is already modded, and i was planning on a 2.5" hood. My dad and brother said the same thing about making it a sleeper. It has weld racing wheels and is lowered some, but other than that it looks stock.

Because nothing says sleeper like the sound of a modded mustang:rolleyes:
If you got it, flaunt it. There's nothing really sleeper about a mustang

OH so true, so true! LOL
Once you start done some work to a car, a new hood might be necessary, depending on the route you go. In one case, if you get 1.7 rockers, then you need taller valve covers, but they won't fit under the intake manifold, so you get a plenum spacer to make the valve covers fit. Then your plenum sticks up too high and your hood won't close, so now it looks like you need a cowl hood.
Or if you want to run a plenum spacer to make the intake manifold run a little cooler, Now a cowl hood is in order so the hood closes.
Or, If you want to keep the engine bay cooler, and you want a cowl induction hood to help vent the hot air out.
Or maybe it's all of the above?
