02 Regal GS Vibration

I have a very noticeable vibration that starts at about 40 mph and is very noticeable until about 75 mph with the worst being from about 45 mph to 65 mph. It seems to be there whether the throttle is applied or not and can be felt in the seat and steering. Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

I would check the CV Joints. This sounds like an axle shaft issue given the fact that it occurs at speed. You should also check the balance on the tires just to be sure you don't have one out of balance.

Took the car to multiple service shops and everyone came back with the same answer "we can't find anything". Finally found a shop that figured out the problem, for some reason, (3) of the four tires had flat spotted. Put new tires on and the car rides like a dream. Don't know why the tires had flat spotted as the car has never set over a couple of days and no skids but who knows, I'm just happy to cruise down the interstate with no vibrations.

Thanks for letting us know what you had to do to resolve the problem. You also might want to have the alignment checked, if you already haven't done it, as that can cause flat spots on the tires.

The biggest cause of flat spots on tires if they are good quality is worn out struts. The original GM struts are technically worthless after 70K miles.
