I was checking to make sure the 4 wheel drive worked on my neices blazer and now it won't come out of 4 low. I checked the box behind the pass. kick panel and found a broken wire. I fixed it but it didn't fix the problem. I even went as far as to tap on the shift motor on the trans. case. The light on the dash flashes and I can hear the motor trying to shift. She told me it happened a couple years ago but never in 4 high only in 4 low. Any ideas?

When mine did it I put a new TCCM in and no problems.

We need to know what transfer case you have?
233-236?
The 236 has the auto 4W shift button on push button switch.
Any check engine or other check lights on or flashing?
Have you tryed backing up and putting transmission in neutral?
Why was wire broke?
Did fixing it make any difference?
All fuses good?

She must have the 236 because it has the auto 4wd button. No check engine lights at all. I tried backing it up, neutral, rocking it, nothing worked. All the fuses are good. The wire was corroded, I tried cleaning it but it was to far gone and broke. Fixing it made no difference.

With a 236 you need to get it on a good engine transmission transfer case scanner and run shift test and get codes.
Post back any codes.
You might try pulling 4W drive fuses and putting them back in.
Any check engine or transmission or 4W light flasing or on
If wiring corroded it may have got into transfer case computer and plugin.
Good Luck

My neice got her blazer back the other day from the garage. All they did was unplug the switch on the dash for a couple minutes and plugged it back in. $90...ouch. I'm going to get a tccm from a salvage yard tomorrow complete with a plug and about a foot of the wiring and spend some time replacing the bad wires...should be a blast.

So much for proper testing at that garage.
The 236 can be tested out and repaired with a transfer case capable scanner.
It reads out codes and shift data and does several shift test to find the problem.
Instead of just throwing parts at it and replacing stuff it needs proper testing to get to the problem.
Good Luck
