92 Century Lock issue

So my Mother says her driver door wont shut. I press the unlock button numerous times to roll over the clasp in the door. No luck. The clasp is in a closed position so it cannot grab onto the bar. Any idea how to "open" the clasp in the door to allow it to, at least, shut?
