i'd say mid to high 16's. i really doubt you can break into 15's if the car is stock.

be a great driver an have good conditions (40 degree weather, at sea level, etc...) an u'll break into 15's.

I think I remember Edmunds posting that it runs the quarter in 16 flat. I don't have any clue under which conditions, how many runs, or how good of a driver they used.

Probably only slightly slower. They weigh just like 50lbs heavier and the motors are vertually the same.

gonna have to put the auto tranny into consideration...look for nothin better then mid 16's-17 flat since there is only so much u can do driving-wise w/ an auto.

my 91 integra gs with intake and exhaust ran [email protected] on my first run and [email protected] (got the slips here)
these were my first two runs ever so i had zero racing experience (reaction times were 1.465 and 1.576) and had only been driving a stick for about a month at the time, 94 4-door rs would be about as quick stock as a 2 door 91 gs i'd think because of the added horsepower of the 94 would be countered by the added weight of the extended body and 2 extra doors

The auto teg will be in the upper 17's sorry but it is true. My girlfriends 94 rs auto with an intake best time was 17.8 and it was a two door. And I was driving it, the auto's have no quick accel from a dead stop that is were the time was lost the most. Also they take too long to shift etc.

90gs, ur reaction time won't hurt ur 1/4 mile time. u could sit there for a minute, then go, an still run the same time. jus keep at it, an u'll work ur way down. w/ a 5sp, u can get faster through jus getting better at shifting, in an auto...its jus u learn where to launch then floor it.

i know, i was saying that i had zero racing experience and i showed my reaction times to prove that i had no racing experience, cuz 1.5 rt is damn horrible

I have a stock 96 RS 5 spd. On the 1/4 mile, if you take the reaction time off, my best of 3 runs was 16.025 @ 82.5 mph. But I shifted in 4th gear a little early on that run. One of my books says 15.8 is the best time you can get with my car.

did you NOT read what was said above... RT has nothing to do with ET. so what you're really saying is you ran a 16.5 or higher huh?

I guess it varies from one racetrack to another. In Napierville, Qc, ET DOES include the reaction time. I know because if I took the reaction time off my ET, I almost got the same time on all 3 runs. But on my first race, I had a RT of over a second, so my ET was crappy. My second was 0.3 second (best ET), and the third was 0.78 sec, with a ET of 16.805
Next time I race over there I'll ask to make sure, but I'd be amaze if they told me otherwise.

:screwy:
that track is ran by a moron if it is true, but i believe you juyst screwed uyp big time on the one where you had a shitty time cuz of a long RT, this is how it works, after the last yellow lights a timer starts, it takes .500 for the green to light, which is why .5 is perfect RT (unless on a pro tree) then when your tires le the beam connect again, timer stops and thats your RT, and begins at the same time and then when you go through the beam at the end, it stops and thats your ET.
you can sit there for 20 seconds and still run a 16 because the ET timer isnt running yet, its still waiting to put up your reaction time, then you go and run a 16 and your ET is not 36.00, it would be 16.00

I stand corrected...
Just came back from there, and I studied my race slip this time...
I raced against a 300ZX 2+2 auto. He had an ET of 16.33 with a RT of 0.6.
I had an ET of 16.768 @ 84 with a rt of 0.7. And the race slip says he won by a margin of 0.5.
So you were right!
2 questions now:
What's a good ET with a stock 96 Teg RS? (Am I such a bad driver?)
What are the best shift point with my car?

well, is yours sedan or hatchback? if sedan it isnt TOO bad, I think the sedan is like 200 pounds more or so? not sure off hand but there is an average of .2 seconds more right there, and I saw a couple of LS hatches running 16 flat with just short ram intake. even though the RS is lighter I believe it is not much lighter, so shouldnt bee too much quicker there. so yours stock running a 16.7 is alright, I dont see an intake dropping .7 and watching these guys launch i believe they could do better so after time you should do alot better, but at least you arent up in the 17's.
