What is the fastest STOCK BMW in the world? Not the mod. ones that company's soop up. Like M3's, Z3, Z8, etc. I personally like the M3's, because they look way way too nice and they are quick.

the mclaren, if you want to count it (it uses a bmw engine).
otherwise, probably the M3 GTR with the V8. i believe it was produced in very limited numbers in europe, but i haven't heard much about it so i'm not sure.

BMW CSL, not CSI :D
I cant remember what CSL stands for, but the version is a lightweight stripped out model of the BMW E46 M3.

I'd say the Mclaren F1 is the most powerful engine. After all, it is powered by two M3 engines that where put together. :D

The CSL refers to Coupe Sport Lightweight.
The CSL is based on the 3.0 CS coupe. In the early 70's BMW realized that it could not fulfill its sporting ambitions without preparing a lighter, high-performance CSL (the "L" suffix signifying "leicht" or German for "lightweight"). The CSL was homolgated and then sold with a full set of "wings" to create aerodynamic downforce and cut uplift.
In September 1972, BMW produced the first of its CSL lightweight derivatives, which offered an aluminum hood, trunk lid, and doors in left-hand drive, with little in the way of luxury equipment. The CSL label needed only 1000 cars to pass as far as the factory was concerned for homologation purposes. BMW made a total of 1096 complete cars.

03 m5 goes for 13.4 1/4 mile..... 01 m5 goes for 13.1 1/4
03 m3 goes for 13.6 1/4 mile..... 01-02 m3 goes for 13.2 1/4 mile
01-02 versions of the m series are the best...

I beleive the question was excluding the M versions!
which would leave 540i 6spd looking pretty good.
and also the E36 328Ci 5 spd
and perhaps the 850Csi...

Veyron power without the quad turbos - or the lag for that matter (unless, the quad turbos are electronically controlled, reducing lag).

if were leaving out M versions, the z8 is the obvious winner
